“…It should also be taken into account that the updates continued to be published afterwards as well. For this reason, some of the data reported by the TINRO center scientists that broadened our knowledge on the species composition, sizes, distribution, and particularities of the biology of the fish inhabiting the Russian territorial waters of the Sea of Japan (Vdovin and Shvydkii, 2000;Ivankova, 2000;Panchenko 2002Panchenko , 2005Panchenko , 2009Panchenko , 2012Antonenko et al, 2003Antonenko et al, , 2010Antonenko et al, , 2011aAntonenko et al, , 2011bIvankova and Kim, 2004;Panchenko and Antonenko, 2004;Panchenko and Pushchina, 2004;Kalchugin et al, 2006;Balanov and Solomatov, 2008;Panchenko and Zuenko, 2009;Solomatov et al, 2009;Panchenko et al, 2011Balanov et al, 2012;Zemnukhov et al, 2013;Panchenko and Solomatov, 2014;Panchenko and Boiko, 2015) have not been included in the summary work. Apart from the already published data, in the TINRO center, there have been so far accumulated many materials which have not been used in any published works and which complement and broaden our knowledge on the above-mentioned subject.…”

“…The model was applied to Sea Raven populations off Fukushima by using CPUEs from 2000 to 2009 and was also used to predict the future biomass of Sea Ravens. We chose the Sea Raven as a suitable candidate because previous studies have reported that they exhibit clear seasonal movements from coastal to offshore areas in association with their reproductive cycles (Munehara 1996;Antonenko et al 2010). The feasibility of the model was evaluated by comparing the predicted and observed CPUEs before (i.e., January 2010-March 2011) and after (i.e., September-October 2012) the nuclear accident at FDNPP based on data that were not included in the estimation step.…”
