Distribution of Contact Stresses and Inter-Tooth Slip In Bilateral and Unilateral Engagement

Abstract: The paper presents the issues concerning contact stresses and inter-tooth slip of a power shift gear used in the powertrain of a wheel loader. The kinematic diagrams on individual gear ratios of the transmission are presented. Using appropriate numerical values of contour shift coefficients (correction coefficients), normal bilateral gearing, pre-pitch unilateral gearing, and post-pitch unilateral gearing were considered.
