Abstract:The FecG gene, also known as GDF-9 (growth factor differentiation factor 9), plays an important role in regulating reproductive function in mammals. This paper presents the results of a study of a point mutation in the differential growth factor gene in Romanov breed sheep. Mutations in exon 1 of the GDF-9 gene can lead to disturbances in ovarian development and ovulation, resulting in infertility or reduced reproductive capacity in animals.
