“…We found two estimates in the literature of LDD by wind for Heracleum species: up to 100 m for H. mantegazzianum (Ochsmann, 2008) and up to 50 m for H. sosnowskyi (Kondratiev, Budarin & Larikova, 2015), although these reports were not confirmed by any instrumental measurements. It is known that wind is able to transport H. sosnowskyi propagules for distances up to hundreds of meters by dragging them along on the flat surface of icy roads (Krivosheina, Ozerova & Petrosyan, 2020) or similar surfaces; however, modeling of this specific process was beyond the scope of the present study.…”
