Disturbances in the lipid peroxidation system of blood neutrophils in patients with Turner's syndrome

Abstract: A characteristic feature of Turner's syndrome (TS) is premature aging, accompanied by certain biochemical disturbances and, in particular, changes affecting lipid metabolism and an increase in the frequency of hyperlipidemia [2]. Disturbances also are observed in metabolism of lipid peroxides (LP). The blood neutrophils in thisdisease have a high LP level and reduced activity of one enzyme of the antioxidant system, namely myoloperoxidase [I].
