Diterpenoid Alkaloids from Delphinium ajacis and Their Anti-RSV Activities

Abstract: Five new diterpenoid alkaloids, ajacisines A-E (-), were isolated from , along with seven known alkaloids (-). On the basis of their spectral data (IR, UV, HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR) and chemical properties, the structures of compounds - were identified. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their antiviral activities against respiratory syncytial virus, and compounds- and exhibited moderate to weak effects with IC values of 75.2 ± 1.1, 35.1 ± 0.6, 10.1 ± 0.3, and 50.2 ± 0.5 µM, respectively.

“…DAs 63–67 in Figure 6 show an O-acetamidobenzoate moiety [ 54 , 55 , 56 , 57 ]. DAs 65 and 66 exhibit hydroxyl substitution at C12 [ 54 ]. Tianshanitine B ( 68 ) has hydroxyl instead of methoxy in C16.…”

“…Four diterpenoid alkaloids, ajacisine C (49), ajacisine D (50), ajacisine E (51), and isodelectine (52), were isolated from Delphinium ajacis. Compounds 49-52 were evaluated for their in vitro antiviral activities against the respiratory syncytial virus, and compounds 49-52 exhibited moderate to weak effects with IC 50 values of 75.2 ± 1.1, 35.1 ± 0.6, 10.1 ± 0.3, and 50.2 ± 0.5 μM, respectively 59 (Figure 5).…”

“…According to our previous work, many alkaloids have been isolated from Delphinium grandiflorum [3,4]. The title compound, ajacisine D monohydrate, is one of the diterpenoid alkaloids which have been proved to be the main chemical components of genus Delphinium [5,6].…”
