The increasing globalization, migratory movements, talent shortages and changes in mentality have transformed the workplace in diverse settings as never before. Many organizations have started to devote efforts to appropriately attract and manage a more diverse workforce. However, there is still a lack of knowledge and research regarding the topic. This work aimed at determining whether there was any positive impact derived from the introduction of D&I policies in an organization and its organizational performance, chosen as an indicator since it provides a more global view of a firm's health and standing. By researching the existing literature in the field and conducting primary research via a questionnaire it was concluded that the introduction D&I policies has a positive impact on employee motivation and engagement. Employee motivation and engagement, at the same time, result in an increase of organizational performance through higher competitiveness, better strategy implementation, profitability, better employee satisfaction, better financial results, higher employee retention, higher productivity, among others.
