DNA-Gated Graphene Field-Effect Transistors for Specific Detection of Arsenic(III) in Rice

Abstract: As one of the most toxic forms of arsenic, inorganic As(III) is easy to accumulate in rice, leading to severe public health problems. Effective control of As(III) requires the development of fast analytical methods for its detection with high sensitivity and specificity. Toward this end, in this work, we report the fabrication of an As(III) electrochemical sensor based on a solution-gated graphene transistor (SGGT) platform with a novel sensing mechanism. The gold gate electrode of the SGGT was modified with D… Show more

“…As national standard methods, spectrometry and mass spectrometry are widely applied with the advantages of good reproducibility and high sensitivity, accounting for 37% and 22% of the references on HMs detection from 2012 to 2021. However, expensive equipment, complicated pretreatment, and long detection period are hard to overcome. , In contrast, the sensing method has not only a low detection limit, high sensitivity, and simple pretreatment but also the ability to measure multiple HMs simultaneously. Therefore, it accounts for the largest proportion of HMs detection in the recent 10 years, reaching 39%.…”

“…To further explore the As detection potential of FET sensors in real environmental samples, a solution‐gate graphene FET sensing platform modified with DNA was constructed for As(III) detection and applied in practical rice samples. [ 87 ] After coated with DNA probe, the bovine serum albumin (BSA) was used to block the unspecific binding sites. In this work, the authors proposed a novel sensing mechanism.…”
