“…Clades E3–E4 comprise a set of Euscorpius specimens that cannot be assigned to any described species: E3 from Evvoia and Skyros Islands, as well as E4 from north‐east Greece (Macedonia and Thrace) and southern Bulgaria. Clade E7 ( E. tauricus complex) hosts specimens from several Cycladic Islands, as well as E. tauricus from the Crimea Peninsula (Ukraine) and E. avcii from Samos Island (Parmakelis et al ., ). This clade exhibits an ambiguous relationship both with clade E5 that includes undetermined specimens from two other islands of the Cyclades (Tinos and Andros) and with clade E6 that includes undetermined Euscorpius specimens from Dodecanese Islands (Karpathos and Rhodes).…”

Most recently, two new species have been added to the Greek fauna: Euscorpius corcyraeus Tropea & Rossi, from Kerkyra (Tropea & Rossi, ) and Euscorpius avcii Tropea et al ., from Samos (Parmakelis et al ., ). However, further investigation was hindered by lack of material from Greece, as well as the existence of morphologically ‘cryptic’ (i.e.…”
