Abstract: Doctoral forms of study are now diverse, although debate exists about whether ontological differences separate the research‐based Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from alternative doctoral forms that contribute to professional practice. The purpose and processes of doctoral study and prevailing market logics that suit the knowledge economy affect the doctoral experience. Solutions entail relationality between the ideas that members of society hold about the ontology and purpose of the PhD and alternative doctoral fo… Show more

Table 5 shows that the binary logistic regression model for implicit stereotyping (using backward selection) with respect to patient characteristics revealed a significant association between PHC physicians' qualifications with higher stereotyping among less-qualified physicians (Exp(B)=0.212, <0.001) and position with higher stereotyping among senior physicians (Exp(B)=0.576, p=0.011).…”

“…This lack of control is always already the case. Svalbard, while exceptional in many ways, is my example case as it is in relation to this place I experienced my “doctoral becoming” (Carter et al., 2018, p. 485). Inserting oneself into the “place of interest's” assemblage through research brings the realities of that context to the fore.…”
