With a focus on large-scale IT system development projects in diverse enterprises, this research suggests that a hybrid approach combining agile and plan-driven management methods should fit in a wider context of specific project characteristics. Although the extant research illuminates the advantages of the hybrid approach, very few empirical studies actually suggested that the hybrid approach can improve the likelihood of project success. This research results show that the hybrid approach should be more scalable than the agile method, and that the hybrid approach can provide better cost-benefit ratios compared to the traditional plan-driven method. These quantitative and qualitative findings offer a practical recommendation for the project manager or the project management office to utilize the hybrid approach appropriately.

A criação de uma marca é fundamental para o sucesso e depende da harmonia entre funcionalidades do produto, desempenho e valores. Os manuais de empreendedorismo sugerem o cuidado com a marca, mas não especificam como cuidar do seu desenvolvimento por meio da relação entre marca e atributo de produtos. Este artigo investiga uma possível estratégia de construção conjunta de marca e produto, em spin-offs, por meio da aplicação do método Involvision. Além da adaptação do método para o contexto de empresa nascente de base tecnológica foi necessário utilizar a participação indireta do cliente. O resultado da aplicação foi a visão do produto a fim de auxiliar na definição de produto associada a valores. -This empirical study examines the adoption of agile software development, and the role of Scrum in computer science senior projects at Florida International University. This paper describes the senior projects and Scrum implementation. It highlights the advantages of incremental and iterative software development and discusses how Scrum can improve the productivity of software teams. In addition, it illustrates the other benefits such as engagement, transparency, frequent delivery and flexibility to change. Finally, it evaluates the outcomes by tracking the velocity estimations of each Scrum team. It demonstrates how Scrum and our tools can facilitate the software product development and the transition of our projects throughout semesters.
