Abstract:The dynamical nature of the cold fusion problem is considered. A general model of two slow charged particles interacting in a metal crystal is developed. It is shown that there exists a resonance state of this system. The value of the positive real resonance energy depends on the properties of the metal crystal. An estimate of the probability of cold nuclear fusion in condensed matter is given.Recently, the d + d nuclear fusion in Pd-D (i.e., Pd metal crystal with absorbed deuterium atoms) at room temperature … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
