Abstract: Background “Interview hoarding” is commonly used to refer to the concentration of interview offers among a small number of high-performing residency applicants. Theoretically, if the same applicants interview at every program, fewer rank lists will be submitted than open residency positions, leading to a “match crisis” with unfilled positions after the match.
