“…The great amount of seeds dispersed over floodplains, together with massive seed production, contribute to the dominance of this species in areas subject to flooding. Last but not least, stands of I. glandulifera promote soil erosion (Greenwood & Kuhn, 2014) and as there are almost no other species in these stands that would stabilize the soil, erosion ensures the persistence of I. glandulifera once a site is colonized.
