Does the mere presence of a smartphone impact cognitive performance? A meta-analysis of the “brain drain effect”

Abstract: The “brain drain” hypothesis posits that the mere presence of a smartphone may occupy limited-capacity cognitive resources and, as a result, negatively impact cognitive performance.
