Dopamine is a double-edged sword: Enhancing memory retrieval performance at the expense of metacognition

Abstract: While memory encoding and consolidation processes have been linked with dopaminergic signaling for a long time, the role of dopamine in episodic memory retrieval remained mostly unexplored.
