Abstract: Fabry disease is a rare monogenetic, X-linked lysosomal storage disorder with neuropathic pain as one characteristic symptom. Impairment of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A leads to an accumulation of globotriaosylceramide in the dorsal root ganglia.
