“…Such short term, shot by shot, stability performance could be improved using better mechanical design and better piezo-electric transducers, but is already compatible with high accuracy LIDAR measurements. Yet the device could still be improved : to prevent mode hops behaviour of the device after a few minutes, due to pump and mechanical instabilities, a shorter cavity, mechanically more stable, could be implemented [18] : mode hop-free, free running long term stability (over hours) can thus be expected. …”

“…After better optimization of the interacting waves temporal (delay line) and spatial mode matching and beam divergences inside the non linear amplifier crystals, use of a higher energy pump source can be combined with the increase of beam sizes inside the KTP stages [7] ; another way to suppress this detrimental walk-off effect would be to implement high aperture PPLN crystals [6] . Next steps will now be dedicated to the implementation of a shorter cavity for the ECOPO, in order to achieve mode-hop-free, free running long term stability (over hours) as we recently demonstrated with a new ECOPO [18] . Efforts are also made towards miniaturization of the device, in order to improve the mechanical robustness and stability ( Figure 9).…”
