Downregulation of ATP binding cassette subfamily a member 10 acts as a prognostic factor associated with immune infiltration in breast cancer

Abstract: The human ATP binding cassette (ABC) family of transporter proteins plays an important role in the maintenance of homeostasis in vivo. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic value of the ABCA10 gene in BRCA. We found that ABCA10 expression was downregulated in different subgroups of breast cancer and strongly correlated with pathological stage in BRCA patients. Low expression of ABCA10 was associated with BRCA patients showing shorter overall survival (OS). A… Show more

“…The relationship between gene expression and the prognosis of malignant tumors is currently a hot research topic [16][17][18], and several gene signatures such as PAM50, Oncotype DX assay (a 21-gene signature), and MammaPrint (a 70-gene signature), which have garnered FDA approval, have been employed for prognostic and diagnostic purposes in the care of patients with breast cancer. In this study, we stratified HR+/HER2-type breast tumors into two categories using 315 UTEGs and the results indicated a disparity in survival between the two groups.…”

“…To delve into the landscape of gene mutations, DNA copy number alterations (CNAs), gene domain variations, and mRNA expression, a thorough bioinformatics analysis was conducted, employing well-established methodologies [ 20 , 21 ]. Data from diverse platforms, including TNMplot [ 22 ], UALCAN Portal [ 23 ], and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), were harnessed to assess gene expression levels in breast cancer (BC) tumors and adjacent normal tissues.…”

“…To gain insights into gene mutations, DNA copy number alterations (CNA), gene domain variants, and mRNA expression, bioinformatics analyses were conducted using established methods [ 28 , 29 ]. The Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), was searched using "gastric cancer" and "immune" keywords, and microarray data from all samples were extracted.…”
