Abstract: Vortex generators (VGs) are typically positioned upstream of a boundary layer separation region. Their effectiveness depends on incoming flow conditions (Mach number, Reynolds number, and boundary layer characteristics), geometrical configuration (vane or ramp, height, width, and angle of incidence), and spacing.
