(Purslane) has been used as a kind of food and medicinal plant for thousands of years in China. P. oleracea is very important because of its special medical function and all its therapeutic values are attributed to the presence of many biologically active compounds which include; flavonoids (Apigenin, kaempferol, quercetin, luteolin, myricetin, genistein, and genistin), Alkaloids, Coumarins, anthraquinone glycoside, cardiac glycoside, and high content of ω-3 fatty acids [13].
