DRTS Parsing with Structure-Aware Encoding and Decoding

Abstract: Discourse representation tree structure (DRTS) parsing is a novel semantic parsing task which has been concerned most recently. State-of-the-art performance can be achieved by a neural sequence-to-sequence model, treating the tree construction as an incremental sequence generation problem. Structural information such as input syntax and the intermediate skeleton of the partial output has been ignored in the model, which could be potentially useful for the DRTS parsing. In this work, we propose a structural-awa… Show more

“…This model achieved impressive performance on both sentence-level and document-level DRS parsing on GMB data. Fu et al (2020) in turn improve on this work by employing a Graph Attention Network during both encoding and decoding. The introduction of gold standard DRSs in the PMB enabled a principled comparison of approaches.…”

“…Several data-driven methods based on neural networks have been proposed for DRS parsing (van Noord et al, 2018bLiu et al, 2019a;Evang, 2019;Fancellu et al, 2019;Fu et al, 2020;van Noord et al, 2020). These approaches frame semantic parsing as a sequence transformation problem and map the target meaning representation to string format.…”

“…An initial release of this data was used by the cross-lingual CCG-based parser of Evang and Bos (2016). The PMB is described in more detail in Chapter 6, while we describe our own DRS parsers trained on PMB data in Chapters 7, 8 and 9, as well as other (contemporary) developed DRS parsers (Liu et al, 2018a(Liu et al, , 2019aFancellu et al, 2019;Fu et al, 2020).…”
