“…Serum CK concentration begins to increase 2-12 h after the initial muscle injury and will peak between 3 and 5 days. This means that at the beginning of rhabdomyolysis serum CK may be normal [4]. Our patient showed a biphasic serum CK elevation.…”

“…Drugs and toxins are also important causes of rhabdomyolysis in both adults and children. More than 150 drugs and toxins have been reported to cause rhabdomyolysis [4]. Other aetiologies in children include anoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy, electrolyte disorders, severe hyperthermia and hereditary myopathies [5].…”

“…This may augment muscle contraction and increase energy demands that could resulted cell destruction. Consequently, such victim"s rhabdomyolysis was most likely due to direct toxicity that caused increased muscular activity and injury [27] . M. Hayot, E. Barreiro, A. Perez, G. Czaika, et al (2001) during studying the in vitro mechanism of skeletal muscles injury and repair the researchers utilized caffeine solution at different exposure time as an agent to create a pattern of skeletal muscles injury [28] and this finding greatly indicate that high dose caffeine targeting skeletal muscles causing these myocytes to be injured which agreed with the…”
