“…The steady-state flux of prilocaine and lidocaine from the 1:1 eutectic mixture was found to be 712.05 ± 39.39 g cm −2 h −1 and 762.70 ± 44.63 g cm −2 h −1 , respectively, which was considerably lower than previously published data. A similar lidocaine-prilocaine eutectic mixture (1:1) demonstrated a steadystate silicone flux of 1554.5 ± 26.2 g cm −2 h −1 for prilocaine and 1788.5 ± 30.4 g cm −2 h −1 for lidocaine at 32 • C (Nyqvist-Mayer et al, 1986). The differing results could be attributed to the higher temperature in the previously published study (our experiments were conducted at 25 • C) which has a direct effect on passive diffusion of molecules (Williams, 2003).…”

“…full-thickness, hairless mouse skin using lidocaine-n-alkanoate ion pairs. A number of workers have attempted to study the move ment of lidocaine across intact-and excisedskin models with limited success using ionto phoresis [16], phonophoresis [17], cosolvents [18], eutectic mixtures [19] and surfactants [20]. Our work using the ion pairing approach is present in this article.…”

“…11678-01, and lidocaine, batch no. 58549-01, were kindly provided by AstraZeneca R&D, Södertälje, Sweden and were used as received (45)(46)(47). Lysozyme, L6876, was purchased from Sigma Chemical Co., St. Louis, MI and then dialyzed in a tube with a molecular weight cutoff of 6000-8000 at +5…”
