Abstract: Nosocomial infections caused by Acinetobacter baumannii are associated with high mortality, especially among critically ill patients. A. baumannii is highly resistant to long-term starvation, desiccation, disinfecting agents, and antibiotics, and its negative impact on the cardiology patients is particularly severe.
