Drug resistance related genes in lung adenocarcinoma predict patient prognosis and influence the tumor microenvironment

Abstract: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the predominant type of non-small lung cancer (NSCLC) with strong invasive ability and poor prognosis. The drug resistance related genes are potentially associated with prognosis of LUAD. Our research aimed to identify the drug resistance related genes and explore their potential prognostic value in LUAD patients. The data used in this study were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. Firstly, we screened drug resistance related g… Show more

“…Low LAMA3 expression is linked to ovarian cancer treatment resistance and a poor prognosis [38,39]. Furthermore, lung adenocarcinoma's poor expression of LAMA3 plays a role in its proliferation and medication resistance [40]. NEDD9 expression could be employed as a gastric cancer predictive biomarker [41,42].…”

“…For instance, the molecular events in tumor cell-immunocyte interactions in the lung adenocarcinoma microenvironment need to be studied [68]. Moreover, determining drug-resistance genes could help in the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma and improve the clinical efficacy of drugs [69]. Recently, the effects of mucus on airway macrophage activation and plasticity on gene and protein expressions and functional changes were determined [70].…”

“…Using TOR1AIP1 and other frequently mutated genes (TP53, KRAS, APC, PIK3CA, KMT2D, TERT, ARID1A, EGFR, KMT2C, FAT1) as the keyword input, we selected the "GDSC drug sensitivity and expression correlation" option. Through this analysis, we obtained valuable insights into the correlation between drug sensitivity and the expression of the above genes [28,29].…”
