“…In addition, the valence band (VB) of ZnO (2.615 eV vs, NHE) and the HOMO level of Chitosan (2.1 eV vs. NHE) has more positivity than / (1.99 eV vs. NHE). Thus, the created holes on the VB of ZnO and the HOMO of Chitosan oxidize to generate , that is equal to the results of the trapping test 53 , 54 . Therefore, radicals produced by electrons that act as an efficient oxidant that react with MB dye molecules and decompose the dye to carbon dioxide and water.…”

“…6(b)), the peaks located at 284.4 eV and 287.8 eV were attributed to the sp 2 C C bonds and sp 2 -bonded carbon (N C N), respectively. 28 For N 1 s spectrum (Fig. 6(c)), it In order to study the optical absorption capacity of synthetic samples, UV-vis spectra and the corresponding digital Under visible light irradiation (⊗ > 420 nm), the photocatalytic performance of the as-synthesized photocatalysts was checked via the degradation of TC.…”

“…The electronic energy band structures of the prepared samples have been analyzed by the UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (Figure 5a). The pristine g-C 3 N 4 absorption band edge is 440 nm , [38] however those of HPBP, HPTP, and HPF were significantly enlarged and bathochromically shifted, indicating that their visible-light absorption are much enhanced and more photogenerated electrons and holes can be utilized. The Kubelka-Munk formula is used to further analyze the band gaps (E g , Figure 5b) of the three polymers with HPBP of 1.77 eV, HPTP of 1.73 eV as well as HPF of 1.66 eV, which are much narrower than that of g-C 3 N 4 (2.66 eV), [50] indicating that the D-A conjugated strategy could indeed tune their electronic energy bands and thus photocatalytic efficiencies.…”
