Abstract:In this paper I develop a comparative study between English, French and Brazilian Portuguese (henceforth BP) about the constructions with double preverbal subjects in finite declarative sentences. It is common to assume that these constructions are similar in BP and French because the subjects are left dislocated, a fact that derives from the Avoid Principle Pronoun.
