“…In our series, patients with chronic kidney disease also underwent transarterial radiographic catheter placement in the descending aorta, allowing the performance of highquality CT angiography with application of only 30 to 50 mL of contrast medium. 17 Our outcomes support a cautious enlargement of indications for the bifurcated Endurant stent graft in this selected population of patients potentially at high risk of graft thrombosis. However, the use of this newgeneration device in these patients should be reserved for high-volume centers with a large experience and the ability to adopt the recommendations described here.…”

“…4,5,15,16 The Prospective Evaluation of the Endurant Endoprosthesis for the Treatment of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (PANDORA) study confirmed the durability of this new-generation device for endovascular aortic repair, with promising freedom from reintervention rates and overall outcomes after a median follow-up time of 42 months. 17 Furthermore, a plethora of studies focused on the performance of this new endograft in the hostile proximal aortic neck. Treatment with the Endurant stent graft is technically feasible and safe, with satisfactory results in angulated and nonangulated anatomies alike.…”

“…Prior publications confirmed its excellent early (1 year) and midterm results. [1][2][3]11,12 The initial report of the Endurant stent graft device at 1 year provided evidence of safety and efficacy in patients with suitable anatomy. The United States Food and Drug Administration provided approval for general use in December 2010, and it remains widely used worldwide.…”

“…1 Since the publication of the Endurant 1-year data, a number of studies including a worldwide registry have confirmed its midterm durability and effectiveness even in challenging anatomies. [2][3][4] This is the first report of 5-year long-term outcomes from the U.S. Endurant Stent Graft System regulatory trial.…”

“…These results were not affected by the treatment center and are similar to the previously reported outcomes of contemporary large series in the nonhostile neck EVAR population. 13,14 In a recent work by AbuRahma et al 8 as well as in similar previous studies, 5,7 the authors reported a nearly fourfold increase in the risk for development of a type IA endoleak and a twofold increase of perioperative complications in patients treated by EVAR with hostile neck anatomy. Subsequently, they concluded that there is an ongoing uncertainty about the outcomes of EVAR out of IFU.…”
