Measuring the impact of emotional labor on job satisfaction is very important in terms of evaluating the quality and effectiveness of the service produced. With the study, this effect is evaluated in terms of public employees. In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of emotional labor on job satisfaction in the sample of municipality employees working in Balçova and Narlıdere Districts of İzmir Province. In addition, it has been examined whether emotional labor and job satisfaction levels differ according to the demographic characteristics of the employees such as gender, age, marital status, income status, experience, education level. The universe of the research is all public employees employed in İzmir Balçova and Narlıdere District Municipalities. The sampling which was selected by easy sampling method is 232 public employees who work here. Descriptive scanning model was used in the research. In this context, the survey method was used as a data collection tool in the research. The survey consists of a total of 42 questions, including 8 questions for determining demographic characteristics, 14 questions for the emotional labor scale and 20 questions for the job satisfaction scale. In the study, the distribution of the demographic and business process status of the municipal employees was handled with percentage and frequency values. In the empirical analysis of the research data, independent t-test, one-way Anova variance test, Pearson correlation, binary and stepwise regression analyses were used. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that the emotional labor perceptions did not differ in terms of demographic characteristics of the municipal employees. In addition, it was determined that job satisfaction levels did not differ in terms of employees' income and marital status. As a result of the study, it was observed that there was a positive and statistically significant relationship between emotional labor dimensions, natural behavior, and inner satisfaction and job satisfaction.
