Abstract:An attempt was made to identify actinomycete strains of the South coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, India along with the study of their antimicrobial potential. Among the 50 actinomycete strains isolated, one strain (VLS-2) showed strong antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungi.
