Abstract

The implementation of the blended learning model requires the ability to wash hands for all school students as the main pillar of preventing the transmission of the corona virus-19 in the school environment. The Work From Home (WFH) policy during the pandemic has made social media as the people's choice to communicate and get health information, (Kemp, S., 2018). During the current pandemic, the School Health Business (UKS) program is minimal or not implemented at all because UKS does not yet have the media to run health education. SLBN Pembina Nasional Bagian C Lawang Malang are 65% of the types of disabilities are mentally retarded with an intelligence/IQ level below the average 3-6 levels below normal children so that students have difficulty in learning. So that students must be given creative and innovative learning media, the form resembles real or real conditions. Video is one of the health education media that is considered very appropriate for mentally retarded children. This study aims to analyze the effect of giving a 6-step hand-washing video tutorial on the ability and use of hand-washing equipment for students of SLBN Pembina Nasional Bagian C Malang. The type of the research is pre-experimental pre-posttest design, simple random sampling proportional, research variable ability and use of students' six-step handwashing equipment, checklist instrument by testing the validity of correlation product moment, Paired T-Test sample analysis in pairs with the help of SPSS. Testing the effect of giving a 6-step hand washing tutorial video on the ability to wash hands. The results showed that the significance value was 0.000 which was less than 0.05 so it can be concluded that giving a hand washing tutorial video had an effect on the hand washing ability of SLB students. Testing the effect of giving a 6 step hand washing tutorial video on the use of hand washing equipment, the result is that the significance value is 0.000 which is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that the 6 step hand washing tutorial video is given to the use of SLB students' hand washing equipment. The UKS suggestion is to use and develop video health promotion media using the Whatshap application, Youtube and increase the response and participation of students, especially parents or families.
