“…While new construction and the detached housing stock from the post-war era in the east and west of Germany differ, the single-family homes built during the interwar and Nazi period are similar. According to previous studies (Pergande /Pergande 1973;Hafner 1996;Kornemann 1996;Spellerberg/Woll 2014), the detached housing stock from the era between 1918 and 1949 is mainly located in what were initially leasehold developments in small cities and rural areas.
