Dynamic combinatorial chemistry in a solvothermal process of Cu(i,ii) and organosulfur ligands

Abstract: An unprecedented microwave C(sp(2))-S and S-S bond activation of 2,2'-dipyridyldisulfide (2-dpds) and the formation of a new architecture of coordination networks obtained by reaction of Cu(HCO(2))(2).xH(2)O with 2-dpds under solvothermal microwave conditions are reported. This unusual reaction proceeds with the partial oxidation of 2,2'-dipyridyldisulfide to sulfate. The process generates: a Cu(I) dimetallic complex [Cu(2)(mu-Hpyt)(2)(Hpyt)(4)](SO(4)).approximately 5EtOH (1), a Cu(I,II) polycationic coordinat… Show more

“…The metal-based anticancer drugs are driven by the necessity to fill the gap in tumor chemotherapy in order to minimize the undesirable side effects and enlarge the spectrum of activity for more tumor types and metastatic cancers. The Schiff base structures play a key role in studying the mechanism of the transformation and racemization reaction in biological systems due to the similarity of their structures to the natural biological system [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11].…”

“…Recently, our research group and others have reported the synthesis and structural characterization of Cu II complexes containing ONNO-, ONO-and NNO-type Schiff base ligands Yahsi & Kara, 2013;Keypour et al, 2015, Gungor, 2017. Since copper(II) quenches luminescence, examples of copper(I,II) and copper(II) luminescent complexes are scarce (Li et al, 2009;Delgado et al, 2010;Wu et al, 2010). In this context, and in view of the importance of Cu II complexes and in an effort to enlarge the library of such complexes, we report here the synthesis of a new Cu II complex, namely bis(3-{[(3-hydroxypropyl)imino]methyl}-4nitrophenolato-3 O,N,O 0 )copper(II), (1), along with its characterization, single-crystal X-ray structure, UV and IR spectroscopic analyses and photoluminescence study.…”
