Dynamic Mechanical Behaviors of Desert Sand Concrete (DSC) after Different Temperatures

Abstract: In the building domain, the non-renewable resource of sand is widely used to produce concrete and mortar. The sand production has been estimated to be more than 10 billion tons with a total of 1.2 billion tons used in concrete in the last decade, which causes the gradual reduction of available building materials and impacts the environment. Since there are abundant desert sand resources in northwestern China, it would be viable to utilize desert sand as an alternative material for concrete production. In this … Show more

“…In other desert countries (e.g., Egypt, Algeria, United Arab Emirates), although there is a lot of sand, it is not suitable for use in concrete, due to the high fineness and too smooth texture of the grains [2,9,12,13] or the pollution of sea sand chlorides [11]. However, both fields are studied [13][14][15][16].…”

“…It takes the microprocessor as the core and combines multi-disciplinary expertise, such as computer technology, system control technology, and multimedia technology. The information of each scattered point is collected and concentrated via the data channel, and the temperature of the sintering furnace is controlled through monitoring and operation [ 27 , 28 ]. DCS is presented in Fig 6 , including an industrial computer and PLC controller in the control room, temperature controller, communication between industrial computer and PLC (using PrefilBus communication bus), and communication between PLC and temperature controller (using 485 communication bus).…”
