Dynamic modelling of the impact of public health education on the control of emerging infectious disease

Abstract: Public health education, including mass and interpersonal communication, has been recognized as an effective control of infectious disease. Compared to the well-studied mass communication by dynamic modelling, not much mathematical study has been done on the effect of interpersonal communication. Here, we build a model, to study the overall impact of mass communication and interpersonal communication on disease spread and disease control during the transmission process. By analysing the dynamic behaviour of ou… Show more

“…Note that Table 3 confirms that public health education may affect the epidemic threshold, which agrees with Nyang'inja et al 12 and Li and Dong. 13 Also our results agree with the results of Garira and Tchuenche 17 that the combination of control measures should include education to ensure best disease control. Finally, we have proved that both early and late education are important in reducing the number of infected cases, which agrees with Al-arydah and Smith.…”

“…Due to shortage of literature numerical simulation on HPV educated and uneducated, we will compare our results with educated and uneducated for different disease research results. Note that Table 3 confirms that public health education may affect the epidemic threshold, which agrees with Nyang'inja et al 12 and Li and Dong 13 . Also our results agree with the results of Garira and Tchuenche 17 that the combination of control measures should include education to ensure best disease control.…”

“…More than that, introducing and encouraging clean and healthy living behavior from an early age can form sustainable habits into adulthood, reduce the burden of disease in society, and extend life expectancy. Therefore, education about the importance of clean and healthy living behavior needs to be integrated into the school curriculum, accompanied by the provision of supportive facilities, as well as an approach that actively involves students in making decisions about their own health [25]- [27].…”
