Dynamic operation and control of a hybrid nanogrid system for future community houses

Abstract: Abstract-A hybrid AC-DC nanogrid (NG) can be considered as the power supply system for future community houses. In this paper, the operation and control of a NG are presented. The NG consists of an AC bus and a DC bus, interconnected through a tie-converter. Each bus may have several loads and micro sources. The NG should have an adequate generation capacity to supply its loads in off-grid mode as well as the capability of exchanging power with the utility grid. The tie-converter exchanges the power between tw… Show more

“…In [8], an optimal power flow method is introduced to minimise the operating cost in hybrid NGs including PVs, diesel generators, and batteries. In addition, there are some other works, which define the related concepts to optimal operation management of NGs [9][10][11][12][13][14][15]. In [9], a group of MGs/NGs is investigated in a multiobjective framework while they can exchange power between themselves.…”

“…Control can be done in proper modeling of components, system modeling, developing power or Energy management strategies, developing algorithm or technique for coordinated control, enhancing the power quality, addressing protection and stability issues. Modeling aspects have been discussed in [3][4][5]; power management strategies have elaborated in [6][7][8][9][10]. Coordinated control is highlighted in [11][12][13][14][15]; stability analysis [16][17][18], power quality [19][20] and protection issues [21].…”
