Dynamical transitions of the actomyosin cortex can trigger single cell morphogenesis

Abstract: Morphogenetic changes driven by actomyosin contractile forces are well-characterized at the tissue level. At the single cell level, shape changes steered by actomyosin contractile forces include mitotic rounding and cytokinetic furrow ingression.
