Dysfunctional lens syndrome: a literature review

Abstract: Introduction. The term “Dysfunctional Lens Syndrome” (DLS) refers to age-related changes in the lens, including early cataracts and presbyopia, that do not significantly reduce visual acuity. This syndrome is characterized by a decrease in accommodative amplitude, an increase in light scattering, and a reduction in contrast sensitivity.
