Abstract: BACKGROUND: N-terminal-acetyltransferases catalyze N-terminal acetylation (Nt-acetylation), an evolutionarily conserved co-translational modification. Nt-acetylation regulates diverse signaling pathways, yet little is known about its effects in the heart.
