(E)-1,3-Diferrocenyl-2-buten-1-one–Water (4/1)

Abstract: The title compound, #-[(E)-1,3-di-r/5-cyclopentadienyl-2-buten-1-one]bis(r/5-cyclopentadienyliron)-water (4/1), [Fe2(CsHs)2(C]aH120)].0.25H20, has two independent [Fe2(CsHs)2(C]aHI20)] molecules in the asymmetric unit. Pairs of one of these molecules form dimers linked by hydrogen bonds via a water molecule occupying either of two sites related by a centre of symmetry. CommentThe formation of the title compound, (I), is assumed to result from the self-condensation of acetylferrocene due to incomplete enolate f… Show more

“…The small dihedral angle of 1.39(12)°for 3 and 1.5(3)°f or 4 between the unsubstituted Cp and substituted Cp ring exposes that the two Cp rings are parallel to each other [53]. The average C10-Cg s -Cg as -C19 torsion angle of 5°f or 3 and C10-Cg s -Cg as -C18 torsion angle of -6.7°for 4 brings that the two Cp rings of the ferrocenyl group are nearly in an eclipsed conformation, as was previously observed in a ferrocene-containing compound [54].…”

“…1 In ferrocenyl-containing chalcones, one (or more) of the aromatic rings are replaced with a ferrocenyl group. 2 The catalytic, 3-5 electrochemical 6-10 and structural properties, 6,11,12 of ferrocene and its derivatives, like ferrocenyl-containing chalcones, have been studied with a variety of different techniques. However, characterization by means of X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) is unvisited for these complexes.…”

“…complex 6, two p-bonded Cr(CO) 3 fragments are oriented trans to each other (Chart 1, Table 1). Table 1 shows related examples of h 5 or h 3 -tricarbonylmanganese complexes 8 [13], 9 [14] and 10 [15] which can be compared with complex 3 and the ligand 1,3-diferrocenyl-buten-1-one 7 [16].…”
