E-Health and Healthcare Enterprise Information System Leveraging Service-Oriented Architecture

Abstract: The newly developed NTUH IIS provides an open and flexible environment not only to share medical information easily among other branch hospitals, but also to reduce the cost of maintenance. The HL7 message standard is widely adopted to cover all data exchanges in the system. All services are independent modules that enable the system to be deployed and configured to the highest degree of flexibility. Furthermore, we can conclude that the multitier Inpatient Healthcare Information System has been designed succe… Show more

“…Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is an approach for organizing software in the form of independent, interoperable services that can be composed and recomposed to meet multiple requirements [21]. In the case of genome annotation, this translates into Genome clients to visualize genome data, a collection of sources providing genome annotations (SNPs, CNV, phenotypes, etc.)…”

“…Line graphs were used for a general analysis of the time data (Cannata et al, 2014;Cito et al, 2015). To obtain a more detailed view of the processing times distribution, the histogram graph was used (Hsieh et al, 2012).…”

“…The purpose of saving costs will also be achieved in the end of the IT project (Stav et al, 2013). In recent years, SOA has been widely applied in the medical field's information systems (Li, Wang, Lu, Lin, & Yen, 2012;Babamir & Arafard, 2012;Steurbaut et al, 2012;Chen et al, 2012;Hsieh, Hsieh, Cheng, & Lai, 2012;De Capua, Meduri, & Morello, 2010;Park & Nam, 2012). In addition to improving actual development efficiency, users perceive satisfaction from the system use.…”
