The flipped learning approach of instruction sees classroom lectures moved outside of classrooms through devices and technology. Homework is moved inside classrooms as learning activities. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, cloud-based education platforms - the organization of the educational environment in the cloud as a tool to enable teaching and learning - have been widely deployed to support online instruction. In this study, flipped cloud learning, incorporating approach of advancing mathematical thinking, were conducted in Mathematical Analysis course to study students’ mathematical critical thinking. A quantitative method, using a pre-test-post-test design, was employed with a group of 56 undergraduate mathematics students. The research instrument was a mathematical critical thinking ability test. The quantitative data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis, n-gain and t-test. The findings revealed that students had statistically significant mathematical critical thinking of higher than 60% of the full score at the .05 level. There was an increase in students’ mathematical critical thinking abilities with a mean n-gain of .64, which was moderate. The findings also show that the students’ mathematical critical thinking was significantly enhanced by this approach at .05 level. Thus, it could be summarized that integrating strategy for advancing mathematical thinking into flipped cloud learning positively affected students’ mathematical critical thinking. The results also suggest that this reformed learning approach might be usefully employed as an instruction model in the new normal context.

Flipped Learning adalah model pembelajaran yang berpusat kepada siswa dan memanfaatkan teknologi untuk memperkaya pengalaman belajar mereka. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu diberikan pelatihan tentang konsep dan praktik Flipped Learning agar dapat mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran ini dengan baik. Pelatihan pembelajaran Flipped Learning ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang konsep Flipped Learning dan cara penerapannya di dalam kelas. Materi pelatihan ini mencakup pengenalan Flipped Learning, teknologi dan alat yang digunakan dalam Flipped Learning, perencanaan dan desain pembelajaran Flipped Learning, serta evaluasi dan pengukuran hasil belajar. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di SMPN Satu Atap 2 Palangka Raya (Kalimantan Tengah) dan peserta pelatihan adalah guru-guru mata pelajaran yang berjumlah 11 orang. Kegiatan dalam pelatihan ini terdiri dari pendalaman materi, pengembangan kegiatan pembelajaran, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Melalui pelatihan ini, guru-guru di sekolah tersebut telah mampu merancang dan mengembangkan model pembelajaran Flipped Learning sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang mereka ajar untuk jenjang pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP).

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a significant shift toward virtual learning modalities in nursing education. However, this transition has been marked by various challenges, including faculty and student unfamiliarity with online platforms and the need to adapt curricula rapidly. The purpose of this study to examine the barriers and strategies in the implementation of virtual learning among students in nursing schools at sulu province, philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Quantitative research study with a focus on descriptive analysis was employed to collect and analyze data from 95 nursing students across three higher education institutions in the Sulu Province. A questionnaire was used to assess sociodemographic factors, technology usage, and barriers experienced during virtual learning. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Results: The results revealed that most participants were between 19 and 20 years old, with a higher percentage of females. The majority of students reported owning and using various online technologies, including online videos, social media platforms, mobile apps, and email. Key barriers to virtual learning included the absence of face-to-face interaction, poor internet connectivity, limited technical support, restricted access to clinical simulations, and distracting home environments. Language barriers, technical jargon in learning materials, limited access to required software, insufficient opportunities for collaboration, and privacy and security concerns were also identified as barriers. Conclusion: The findings underscore the importance of implementing key strategies to enhance virtual learning modalities in nursing education. These strategies can significantly improve the quality and effectiveness of virtual learning in nursing education, especially in challenging contexts like the Sulu Province.
