“…This form genus was emended 38 based on specimens from the late Albian of the Cheyenne and Kiowa Formations, Kansas (USA), emphasizing an isopolar pattern. Tricolporoidites pollen occurs in mid-Cretaceous amber-bearing strata from Europe 39,40 . The pollen preserved with the wasp greatly resembles the species Tricolporoidites subtilis Pacltová 37 (1971: p. 117, pl.…”

“…However, the type specimens are clearly smaller in size, ranging from 11 to 13 μm in the polar axis and 10 to 12 μm in equatorial diameter. T. subtilis has also been identified in the early Cenomanian of the Archingeay-Les Nouillers succession (Charentes, W France) 40 . The grains of Tricolporoidites sp.…”

“…This light demanding taxon may have constituted part of Montane vegetation, coastal woodland or represent the arboreal element of early successional stages following disturbance as described in modern settings from NW Australia (Kershaw, 1976). Fossil Araucariaceae, however, are known to produce pollen with limited dispersal potential (de Jekhowsky, 1963;Siegl-Farkas, 1994;Peyrot et al, 2011Peyrot et al, , 2019.…”

“…Although the angiosperm composition of the lower Cenomanian Puy-Puy Lagerstätte is concordant with most other coeval angiosperm floras in Europe (Coiffard et al, 2012), it contrasts markedly with other coastal fossil localities from the Charentese region. Cuticles from clays, silicified plants from flints as well as palynology suggest that Albian-Cenomanian coastal habitats of Charente-Maritime were dominated by conifers and ferns, with some taxa showing xeromorphic adaptations (e.g., Dejax and Masure, 2005;Néraudeau et al, 2005;Peyrot et al, 2005Peyrot et al, , 2019Gomez et al, 2004Gomez et al, , 2008Moreau et al, 2014aMoreau et al, , 2015. Gomez et al (2008) have proposed that the local Albian-Cenomanian littoral palaeoenvironments were dominated by conifer mangrove-type vegetation.…”
