Abstract:Purpose: The traditional medical curriculum in Saudi Arabia needs to undergo major reforms to make it more student-centric, relevant, interesting and contemporary. This unmet need can be fulfilled by the use of “Early Clinical Exposure “(ECE) techniques, employed via simulation based medical education (SBME) courses, integrated into the medical curriculum. This study delivered ECE via SBME, to third year pre-clinical students, and assessed its impact on their fourth-year academic scores.
