Early onset of coronary heart disease in a young woman with familial hypercholesterolemia: coronary findings and effect of short term treatment with high dose atorvastatin
Abstract:We describe the case of a 22-year old woman affected by familial hypercholesterolemia, referred for chest pain and treated with angioplasty of left anterior descending coronary artery. Marked systemic inflammation associated with acute coronary syndrome was reduced by 1-month therapy with high dose atorvastatin.
