Echocardiographic Evaluation of Aortic Valve Stenosis

Abstract: Echocardiography has become the mainstay of diagnosis of patients with valvular heart disease. Its non-invasive nature, absence of side effects, and portability have rendered it a valuable tool in the diagnosis, follow up, intraoperative, post-operative evaluation of patients with severe aortic stenosis. In this chapter we will review the comprehensive role of echocardiography in the assessment of these patients.
