Eco-architecture and sustainable mobility: an integrated approach in Ladispoli town

Abstract: This paper presents an eco-architecture project in a public green space of the Ladispoli Municipality, located on the Italian shorelines close to the city of Rome. The purpose of the project is the creation of a multifunctional urban green space, where social relations, sports, environmental awareness education and other activities can take place in a natural context. The final aim of the project, which includes a requalification of the surrounding areas, is to obtain an ecofriendly interaction between the urba… Show more

“…Table 2 describes the values ex-ante and ex-post for each mentioned building components. Considering the HVAC systems, the existing centralized heating is further equipped with a heat pump playing the primary role in heating supply and leaving the boiler as back-up in cold days to reduce pollution [44,45]. Furthermore, a reduction in heating demand occurs since the insulation will improve building performance and heat losses.…”

“…Eco-architecture principles can be applied by using local materials [42] together with the analisys of renewable sources available to decarbonize the building supply [43]. Here, main interventions are related to the reduce energy consumption by means of lower U-values for each building component.…”

“…project was to develop guidelines and policies at microscale level (urban cell), in order to rethink the urban areas and the integrated design of building systems, with the goal of energy saving and environmental sustainability, in order to improve the quality of life of all citizens, including the elderlies [28]. The theoretical model and methodology developed by the project have been translated into operational tools for the public administration providing concrete support to the process of planning, financing and implementation of measures needed to improve the quality of life and environmental sustainability in urban areas [29,30], with particular regard to natural protected areas [31][32][33]. The studies on age-friendly cities and communities have given rise to researches that have mainly produced a range of descriptive strategies or practices, but there is a lack of documentation on the effectiveness of these approaches [18].…”
