Ecological driving on multiphase trajectories and multiobjective optimization for autonomous electric vehicle platoon

Abstract: Autonomous electric vehicles promise to improve traffic safety, increase fuel efficiency and reduce congestion in future intelligent transportation systems. Ecological driving characteristics are first studied to concentrate on energy consumption, the ability to quickly pass its destination, etc. of autonomous electric vehicle plans (AEVPs) to maximize total energy efficiency benefits. To realize this goal, an optimal control model is developed to provide ecological driving suggestions to AEVPs. The Radau pseu… Show more

“…To obtain the optimal control effect, there are many algorithms and strategies to optimize the parameters of the MPC control framework. The existing MPC tuning methods are generally divided into two categories 30 , 31 . The first method is to obtain analytical expressions by simplifying the process description or process model to some extent, and to add some parameter adjustments.…”

“…The imminent challenges relevant to the implementation and utilization of autonomous mobility (AM) in daily life remain a global concern, raising interest from industrial and academic experts to address specific uncertainties. Autonomous vehicles (AVs) gained momentum in the research and adoption process, as they are advantageous over conventional vehicles in aspects of energy efficiency [1,2], reduction in emissions from driving toward a climate-neutral environment [3][4][5], and the declension of road fatalities [6][7][8]. The progress toward autonomous mobility in a global perspective is considered achievable by 2050.…”

“…To enhance the model applicability, two eco-driving advisory strategies grounded on the devised optimal control model were proposed. Tang et al 28 introduced an ecological driving technique along multiphase trajectories for autonomous electric vehicles utilizing the pseudospectral method and V2V technologies.…”
