Ecological Features of Triticum Aestivum L. Agronomic Trait Development in Agroecosystems of the Forest-Steppe and Polissia of Ukraine

Abstract

The monograph provides theoretical generalization and practical solution of current scientific problem on determining the influence of environmental factors on yield components of winter bread wheat under environmental conditions of the Forest-Steppe and Polissia of Ukraine. Methodological approaches to the assessment of wheat geocenoconsortia for the elements of productivity, as well as and resistance to abiotic and biotic factors were optimized. It has been studied wheat diversification when taking into account the modern agro-climatic zoning of varieties based on the interaction “environment × genotype”; monitoring systems for frost resistance, heat and drought tolerance and resistance to major pathogens of wheat. As a result of the research conducted, the gene pool of Ukraine has been enriched with the germplasm of new winter bread wheat varieties being adapted to the main environmental factors, which will reduce the pesticide pressure on the environment. There were received in collaboration two patents for the utility model: “Method of selecting heat-resistant breeding material of winter bread wheat”, “Method of selecting for complex resistance against the main pathogens of winter bread wheat”. and guidelines “Estimation of ecological parameters for yielding capacity in Triticum аestivum L. varieties under environmental conditions of Ukrainian Forest-Steppe and Polissia” are elaborated. The certificate of registration of plant genepool collection in Ukraine "Work descriptive collection of winter bread wheat genepool for valuable economic traits" was received. There were created in co-authorship with scientists of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of the NAAS high-yielding and high-frost-resistant varieties of winter bread wheat Estafeta myronivska, MIP Dniprianka which are included in the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukraine since 2018.
